Dallas Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is a 66 acre site of natural beauty set besides White Rock Lake at 8525 Garland Road, just 7 miles from downtown Dallas. There are fountains, mansions, trees, and much, much more to see at the arboretum which is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Admission to the arboretum is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, $4 for children ages 3-12, and children under 3 are admitted at no charge. On-site parking is $4, with valet parking $9 and $7 for members.*

The history of the Dallas Arboretum extends back to the early 1930's when Everette DeGolyer of the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Society suggested the idea and chaired a committee to find the site for the project. The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Society is responsible for every asset of the Dallas Arboretum in close cooperation with the City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department.

There is no fee for non-commercial photographers and the Dallas Arboretum has an annual photography contest for children, amateur, and professional photographers.
